We are seeking high performing and motivated people for Entry Level Production openings at our sawmill located outside of Thomasville, GA. This is an excellent opportunity for you to join our team and grow with us. The openings will be in our Sawmill or Planer Mill and you will be responsible for either hand stacking two (2) to six (6) foot lumber/blocks into the designated carts OR monitoring and adjusting green lumber on the production line and/or decks. General clean up in the work area is a part of all positions.

Do you have what it takes to work here? Working in a sawmill is not always easy and successful candidates:

• Ideally will have recent experience working in a manufacturing or similar environment performing work that can be physically demanding.
• Have previous experience working long work shifts. A typical work week is approximately 12 hours (5:30am – 5pm) a day, Monday – Friday. Must also be able to work periodic Saturdays.
• Have a proven job history for staying at most jobs for a long period of time. You understand that you will never grow and expand your skills (and increase your pay rate) unless you stick it out and are in the position to take on additional responsibility and training.
• Know that every person that works here is a very important part of our operation. When someone unexpectedly calls out, comes in late or leaves before the end of the work shift, this causes a hardship to all those that work around you. Thus, we place a high valve on overall work attendance.
• We need people that can THINK. If it looks dangerous, stop and let us talk about it. If you see a better way of doing something, tell us about it.
• Picking up a six foot 4x4 board is not hard. However, picking up and moving thousands of boards continually during the shift is a workout. You will be on your feet, reaching for items, bending down to pick something up and generally moving around all day.
• Have recent experience working in a non-climate controlled environment. This position is located in a metal building that does not have A/C or heat.
• A high school diploma or GED preferred but not required

• Pay rate is $15.55/hr
• Benefits including medical, dental, vision, cancer, life, LTD, and 401k w/ company match available first of the month following completion of one month of continuous full time employment. You will also be eligible for one week of vacation after six (6) months of employment.

Our mill is located in Metcalfe, GA which is located 10 minutes south of Thomasville, GA (southwest GA, just north of Tallahassee, FL). Local candidates (Thomasville and surrounding areas) will only be considered for this position.
