Knowledge Services is actively seeking a GIS Developer/ Analyst for a 1 year contract opportunity with our client, the State of NV. This person can work 100% remote but must be able to work on PST hours.
Responsibilities:
- Planning, conducting, coordinating and implementing complex GIS conversion projects for various county departments and other local agencies
- Digitize and perform varied data entry and manipulation to create, maintain, display and update a comprehensive geographic information system including accurate base maps.
- Perform professional level work related to the development and implementation of systems, networks, databases and macros to create, maintain, display and update a State-wide, County-wide and local government geographic information system.
- Implement GIS applications projects; learning and using the application program languages and system hardware and software utilized by the state GIS system
- Instructing non-technical users in work procedures; analyzing user systems and developing and programming applications to meet those needs
- Preparing clear and concise program documentation and user procedures
- Plans, develops, coordinates and modifies systems to create and maintain a comprehensive geographic and land information system.
- Confers with and acts as the State liaison with County staff and vendors to determine current automated or manual systems, define needs, coordinate system integration and define required output and user documentation.
- 5+ yrs. of ArcGIS experience
- Previous experience converting Street range-based data into GIS maps
- Ability to organize work, set priorities and meet critical deadlines
- Ability to use initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines and contribute effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives and activities.
- **Candidate must also be able to provide their own laptop.
