The Global Brain Health (GBHI) Analyst will participate in analyses of the intersections between dementia, brain health and health disparities. The Analyst will participate in gathering relevant data through various sources, through fields of economics, epidemiology, law and ethics, leadership, neurology, public policy, and research analysis methods. The position will require collaboration with staff and faculty at GBHI’s co-founding site, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland and other international partners.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Department Description

GLOBAL BRAIN HEALTH INSTITUTITE
The Global Brain Health Institute (GBHI) was established in 2015 with two co-founding sites at the University of California, San Francisco (USA) and Trinity College Dublin (Ireland). The overarching goal of the Global Brain Health Institute (GBHI) is to develop and mentor individuals to become leaders and have a long-lasting impact on dementia prevention in their communities across the world. GBHI trains those leaders through the Atlantic Fellows for Equity in Brain Health Program based at UCSF and Trinity College.

GBHI’s unique training program is a 12-month fellowship where trainees come from a wide range of interprofessional backgrounds including physicians, lawyers, writers, artists, caregivers, and policymakers. GBHI competes to attract high-quality, international candidates and seeks to raise greater awareness of the program through written materials, social media and strategic communications. GBHI is integrated with the Memory and Aging Center at the University of California, San Francisco.

ABOUT THE MEMORY AND AGING CENTER
The mission of the Memory and Aging Center (MAC) is to provide the highest quality of care for individuals with cognitive problems, to conduct research on causes and cures for degenerative brain diseases, and to educate health professionals, patients and their families. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area.
  • Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
  • Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
  • Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.
