The Global Operations Planning Specialist plays as key role in converting customer needs into reality by ensuring we have the right equipment, people, materials and inventory in the right place at the right time. Collaboration, relationship building, critical thinking and analytics are the core skillsets needed to drive consensus around a high quality plan. The goal is to maximize the customer experience while achieving critical business metrics such as revenue, profitability and cash flow.

Your responsibilities

  • Own and facilitate the monthly operations planning process ensuring that the S&OP planning calendar is followed, and outputs/ approval requirements are met
  • Assemble and analyze all data pertinent to creating both rough-cut capacity and detailed production plans from the unconstrained demand plan. Partner with assigned plants to identify and understand capacity and material constraints at an aggregate and detailed level
  • Translate the projected forecasts, incoming volume, and work scopes into a time-phased build and procurement schedule. Assemble master schedule reporting regarding performance to the business plan, the shipment plan, the inventory plan, the material plan, and the production plan
  • Determine impact of plan on expected inventory levels and make recommendations for optimizing net working capital and efficiency
  • Use S&OP planning tools to support data analysis, network rule maintenance, planning tool parameter maintenance, and report generation. Manage short term schedule changes and collaborate with Inside Sales Support to ensure proper sales order date management and communication for customers
  • Work with product management to influence design/ offerings decisions, procurement to better align supply and sourcing strategies, inventory planning to develop solutions for constraints, and demand planning to influence demand shaping activities to improve profit, customer service, or reduce inventory
  • Identify key root causes for deviation from the production and material plan and implement initiatives to improve adherence to plans for the future

Your background

  • Bachelors Degree with minimum 5 years experience OR Associate's Degree with minimum 7 years experience OR High School Diploma/GED with minimum 9 years experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of sales, inventory, and operations planning theory and processes
  • Preferred certifications include: Six Sigma Green Belt or higher and APICs or similar certification
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
