Position: Senior Accountant

Location: Norcross or Remote

Type: Full-Time/Exempt

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Starting Pay: 65k

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant should possess both excellent analytical skills and an in-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. You will prepare financial statements, generate financial records and transactions, analyze cash flow, review budgets and forecasts, and participate in audits. The Senior Accountant is also responsible for training new staff and monitoring their work for accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ Years Proven bookkeeping/accounting or related field experience.
  • 3+ Years of experience in government contracting finance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Technical Skills: Outlook, MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, learning new software platforms, and strong data entry
  • Ability to analyze information and deal with complex challenges.
  • Ability to develop standards and report research results.
  • Ability to conduct work concisely and thoroughly.
  • Act with a high degree of integrity; comfortable and capable of handling confidential information.
  • Excellent time management skills, multi-task, prioritize duties, organizational and attention to detail
  • Ability to train others in related practices and procedures.
  • Must have access to reliable means of transportation.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated and strong work ethic combined with the ability to work independently and part of a team.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint (highly preferred).
  • Create and automate financial reports in CostPoint
  • Experience in SaaS platforms.
  • Working knowledge of DCAA compliance standards.
  • Good knowledge of financial accounting statements and business trends.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accounting controls by following company policies and procedures.
  • Generate accurate financial statements and reports delivered by established deadlines.
  • Assist in the design and preparation of budgets and forecasts for review by management.
  • Develop recommendations to optimize company's accounting systems and procedures.
  • Process payroll and prepare payroll reports.
  • Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing, verifying, allocating, and posting transactions to the appropriate accounts.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts, adjusting entries for amortizations, prepaids, analyzing and reconciling retainage and accounts payable ledgers.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements and GAAP/DCAA standards by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports and advising management on needed actions.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
