The Ophthalmology - Grade V Supervisor's duties include:

• Demonstrate behaviour consistent with the Values of the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital.

• Lead the administrative support team in the provision of administrative support services to specific clinical specialties in the department in addition to providing a cross cover service as required.

• Be responsible for the line management of the administration staff within the Sub Specialities in Ophthalmology involved in providing the following administrative support function and mentoring staff:

• Provide cross cover for Supervisor in DRT.

As well as:

1. OPD reception function and clinic appointments function

2. Medical secretarial function

3. Clinic pulling and preparation function

4. Medical typing/ TPRO

5. General administrative support to the clinical teams

6. Waiting Lists management

7. Tracking and tracing patient journey

8. Liaising/communicating with patients

9. Liaising/communicating with clinical lead and relevant area managers

10. Collate data in relation to the activity in managing the service

11. Implement process improvements and pathways of ophthalmology referrals outpatients and the Emergency Eye Department
