Compensation:
- Annual Salary: $37,918.40 Per Year
- Hourly Pay: $18.23 Per Hour
- Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications.

Position Summary & Responsibilities:
This position will remain posted until filled.
Location: Northeast, KC Metro, Southeast and portions of North and South Central Region of Kansas
- Train under lead grain examiner and grain examiners to learn the process of auditing grain elevators and learn the process of examining all state licensed grain facilities in the state of Kansas.
- Train on how to physically measure and inventory all grain storage facilities licensed in the state of Kansas. Storage types include but not to limited concrete elevators and tanks, steel tanks, flat storage facilities, bunkers, ground piles, ag bags, etc.
- Be educated on how to inventory all grains, do a cursory inspection of the grain for quality, check housekeeping practices, and check safety conditions of the facility.
- Examination process includes, but not limited to, auditing company records such as customer stored grain, customer contractual accounts, company warehouse receipts, verifying valid insurance coverage, etc. and measuring all physical inventory.
- Train to complete an original examination to add or delete storage space from a licensee and how to measure new storage space and ensure facility is acceptable for grain storage, complete all drawings on Microsoft Word, add or remove storage space utilizing the Ezam software, bill licensee for all costs associated with original examination, and how to send in completed exam to supervisor.
- Learn the process of performing a special examination requested by a state licensee.
- After completion of training and demonstrating an examination can successfully be completed, Grain Warehouse Examiner Trainee may be considered for promotion to Grain Warehouse Examiner.
- Per Diem and travel accommodations are provided by the state of Kansas when overnight travel is essential. Not provided when working out of home office
This position is a home-based position. The applicant that is selected for this position will start each workday from his/her home when not in travel mode. Working from home office can be expected when not traveling.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in the Grain Industry preferred, but not required.
- Ability to climb bins up to 120 ft. and work in cramped spaces in the heat of the summer and cold of the winter, with exceptions depending on conditions.
- Employee must have a valid Class C (or higher) Kansas driver’s license or equivalent license from another state. Employee is responsible to maintain an acceptable driving record to safely drive state vehicle and be willing and able to fulfill all job-related travel normally associated with this position.
- Travel is required and should be expected to be 75% of the time or staying at a hotel up to three nights a week. Typical travel consists of travel starting Monday morning and would return home Thursday afternoon.
