Position Summary
The TEAMS Grant Project Director oversees all grant management, administration, and financial responsibilities of Lansing School District’s federal School-Based Mental Health Services (SBMH) Grant Program named TEAMS: Tactics to Expand Access to Mental Health Supports. This position reports directly to the Director of Competitive Grants.
Minimum Requirements
- Trained and licensed as a mental health clinician (LMSW, LMFT, LPC, PhD, PsyD) in the State of Michigan
- Master’s degree or higher in education, social work, counseling, behavioral science preferred
- Seven plus years in behavioral health administration/management and clinical leadership, PreK-12 education school-based counseling preferred
- Familiarity with school-based mental health
- Knowledge of psychopathology, diagnostic assessment and related treatment interventions
- Coordinate and provide clinical supervision to limited license practitioners and interns
- Facilitate case conferencing meetings for all assigned SW, LPC, Interns and staff
- Knowledgeable about trauma informed, mental health counseling, clinical treatment/planning
- Knowledge of evidence-based treatments and experience supporting the social, emotional, and/or mental health of students, families, and educators
- Effective outreach and communication skills; experience working with community partners, parents and diverse school community stakeholders
- Budget management experience
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite required
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Direct, plan, organize, and operate TEAMS activities in conjunction with the Director of Competitive Grants, Office of School Culture, Finance, Compliance, and administrators at the elementary/secondary and high school levels
- Create an internal Fellowship Program that encourages a “grow your own” specialization strategy to create a school based mental health professional pipeline by supporting the growth of internal candidates to fill the District’s mental health positions
- Collaborate with Michigan State University and Central Michigan University to create a school based mental health professional pipeline and Clinical Residency Program for graduate students enrolled in degree programs leading to certification or license with the intention of resulting in fulltime employment
- Responsible for managing all administrative, clinical and programmatic functions related to TEAMS services delivered within district
- Create a TEAMS Advisory Board of internal and external stakeholders and hold quarterly meetings to guide the initiatives and review the progress of the TEAMS Grant activities
- Work collaboratively with the District’s Office of School Culture to supervise project staff/teachers to ensure compliance with all TEAMS Grant regulations
- Work with Communications Department and Human Resources to manage recruitment, marketing, and public relations through an aggressive and comprehensive recruitment campaign
- Provide leadership involving professional development, staff training, and parent and community involvement in cooperation with district staff
- Advise staff on TEAMS Grant federal guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance with the project implementation plan and budget expenditures
- Present information updates to the Superintendent’s Executive Team and Board of Education on TEAMS Grant programming and progress, initiatives, and community and higher education partnerships
- Work collaboratively with external vendors and with the Finance Division in preparing all contracts for TEAMS Grant program services, educational specifications, and start-up requirements for new and continuing program services
- Work collaboratively to coordinate the timely collection of data and information in cooperation with the external TEAMS Grant evaluator and SMBH Federal Program Officer to review programming outcomes
