Graphic and Web Designer (Part-Time)
Job description
The Graphic and Web Designer produces marketing assets and designs/maintains program websites that support awareness, recruitment, and cohesion of IET programs. This position will work closely with WSDM to develop the best look and function for the NOVA IET website and the NOVA SySTEMic website, updating them daily and weekly with new information and necessary design additions and functions.
This position reports to the NOVA IET PR & Marketing Coordinator and is expected to work with effective program management through independent decision making and completion of projects as well as collaboratively and effectively within a diverse college community. May be required to train and develop staff.
Duties and Tasks:
- Responsible for creating comprehensive marketing materials with an on-brand, uniform look that are tailored to specific target audience groups, developing and improving visual content with a keen eye for layout and production/print readiness.
- Apply knowledge of digital imaging, web page services, Illustrative and graphic art, and multi-media production by developing website material and utilizing graphic design functions through WSDM (Web Services and Digital Media) within the current look of the general NOVA website.
- Provide technical advice, information, and logistical specifications for asset and web development and establish details of IET programs through contact with students, faculty, and internal staff, and other local/state agencies and media.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- Ability to Interact and maintain productive relationships with students, faculty, corporations and community agencies;

- Ability to produce finished assets independently
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of applicable experience or training.
- Some experience in Graphic Design
- Some experience with Web management
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Some experience using Adobe Creative Suite
- Some working knowledge of STEM subjects and topics
- Some experience with STEM educational programming that includes engineering technology, robotics, programming, Information Technology and/or cybersecurity.
