Since 2011, Thinking Cup Learning has provided New York City schools and families with top-tier educational and enrichment experiences for ages three and up. We teach tricky subjects like chess and music through fun, engaging stories that allow even the youngest students to discover core concepts alongside silly, memorable characters. Each story-based lesson hinges on an interactive "aha" moment, a method that has revolutionized the way difficult subjects are taught and empowered everyone, regardless of experience, to pass along vital life skills to early childhood learners.

You'd be joining Thinking Cup Learning's full-time creative team at a very exciting moment. We are currently growing rapidly outside of our home market in New York City and into new media formats. We're also expanding our educational content beyond chess and music into subjects like backgammon, Go, role-playing games, puzzle cubing, financial literacy, nutrition and wellness, and more.

We're looking for a creative rock star with a passion for children's media and a strong background in book design and layout work. Additional experience in logo design, branding, and marketing graphics is a huge plus.

Responsibilities

• Primary layout and cover design for growing suite of educational children's books
• Create exercise graphics for storybooks and workbooks
• Adhere to and expand on existing house style for all visual assets
• Create marketing graphics and visual aids for immersive learning centers
• Work with development teams to create digital assets for websites and apps
• Collaborate and ideate with creative team on new character design

Requirements

• 3+ years graphic design experience in book layout, marketing, and/or branding
• Impeccable taste and a deep knowledge of children's media
• Ability to design art that matches and expands upon our established style
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, esp. Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
• Deadline driven with outstanding time management skills
• Experience in early childhood education a huge plus
• Sense of humor, growth mindset, and a willingness to learn

Salary range:

$70,000 - $100,000 USD
