Ornua is currently looking for an experienced Group Credit Controller to join its growing team. This is an exciting new position based in Head Office in central Dublin which gives the successful candidate an opportunity to shape the future global footptint of the credit control function across multiple jurisdictions and 14 business units , with a turnover of over €3 billion with a direct and indirect head count of 15. A key enabler of this will be the continued successful roll out of the Group’s Transformation project “Evolve” which is half way through it’s global roll out, delivering a consistent and standard ways of working globally. You will be tasked with ensuring a best in class AR function which is scalable, agile and flexible,. Key will be embedding key processes, SLAs and metrics across the Group AR function. You will partner with key leaders across the commercial, treasury, central finance , group reporting functions to deliver the Group’s STRATEGY.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role. You will be responsible for managing the credit control functions across the various commercial business units in Ireland and overseas. International experience is preferable, the successful candidate will ideally have dealt with all of Ornua’s main markets. There may be some requirement for travel (national and international) with this role.

Objectives :
Manage all of Ornua’s credit control functions in each commercial business unit
Minimise bad debt risk by ensuring group credit limits are operating effectively
Ensure key processes (e.g. cash calls, breakdowns, ad hoc direct debits etc.) are followed
Liaise with all of Ornua’s commercial business units (including Ornua Co-op) to ensure prompt collection of Debtor Accounts
Documentation of all Ornua Groupwide collection activity
Report to management on outstanding issues, whilst highlighting potential Debtor problems
Monitoring Debtor Balances to ensure a reduction in DSO
Coordinate the Groupwide process to ensure accurate account Reconciliation & managing unapplied payments, requesting remittance advices etc.
Communicate with all commercial business units across the Group on account queries from Debtors and internal departments
Monitor & oversee the Groupwide Aged Debtors and coordinate with all commercial business units across the Group to ensure proactive steps are taken to optimise collection
Monitor & oversee the Groupwide Early Warnings Report and coordinate with Groupwide subsidiaries to ensure proactive steps are taken to optimise collection
Liaise with the Group Trade Finance Manager to optimise Credit Insurance on Groupwide Ornua Debtors
Liaise with Debtors and Financial Controllers across the Ornua Group on debtor accounts in order to resolve queries
Ensure monthly Debtor statements are issued on a timely basis by all Ornua’s commercial business units
Prepare reports and presentation for external auditor for annual financial audit
Preparation of other ad hoc reports and presentations as instructed by Line Manager
Other ad hoc duties within the Group Finance Function

Key Competencies :
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role
Collections background
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
Credit Management Qualification desirable
Experience of working with Credit Insurance desirable
Experience of working with Invoice Finance desirable
Proven credit control experience essential
