THE ROLE

The Head Bartender is responsible for the View Boston Bistro & Stratus Bar area and its daily functions including opening and closing duties, mentoring, and training new bartenders and barbacks. This individual will provide positive guest interactions while accurately mixing and serving beverages to guests and servers in a friendly and efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for the setup, cleanliness, and breakdown of assigned bar area.
  • Responsible for cocktail recipe knowledge, proper ringing of all products in POS system, and cash and credit card handling.
  • Create new and innovative cocktails and specialty drinks with the understanding of COGS, preparation, and delivery time while ensuring profitability.
  • Mentor new and current hire bartenders, cocktail servers, and barbacks.
  • Take full inventory of all bar products on a weekly basis.
  • Plan and Provide recommendations for weekly orders to Beverage manager.
  • Possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Provide and create a fun, friendly and exciting experience for all guests to uphold all our standards for the proper service of alcohol as set forth by Legends View Boston.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience in a high-volume bar or club.
  • Must have a current Alcohol Server Training Certifications such as TIPS and ServeSafe.
  • Experience in Cocktail menu planning and development
  • Must have computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment.
  • Detail Oriented.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for an extended period.
  • Ability to work late nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand, sit, use of hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.
