Big Cartel is seeking a seasoned Growth Leader to join us in developing our leading e-commerce platform for creators and artists as Head of the Growth Team reporting to the CEO.
The Growth Team is responsible for quantifying and owning Big Cartel’s growth model, developing data-driven theses around the most impactful growth levers across the business, and translating them into a unique approach to driving predictable, sustainable, and cost-effective growth.
As Head of Growth you will be laser focused on driving new user growth, improving customer time to value, increasing monetization, and improving customer retention.
You will be responsible for building and leading an autonomous team that brings together competencies, strategies, and skills across audience identification and targeting, performance and lifecycle marketing, community building, product and customer research, analytics and data science, testing and conversion optimization, SEO and content, design, and partnerships.
This position is for someone who thrives supporting and leading data-driven and action-oriented, professionals who enjoy developing hypotheses and then rapidly and iteratively testing to hone in on the strategies and tactics that move the needle. You will need to excel in building teams and providing leadership to a diverse group of employees who are comfortable translating broad, open-ended problems into concrete, actionable solutions that scale.
The Head of Growth will be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and will be responsible for living and evangelizing Big Cartel’s values, shaping the company strategy, and making customer-centered decisions that increase the value of Big Cartel. We are entirely remote, so you will have the ability to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S

Responsibilities
Establish and evangelize Big Cartel’s growth strategy, translate the growth strategy to a thoughtfully sequenced roadmap, and drive sustained daily execution.
Build a well-rounded team of growth professionals deploying them against our most compelling opportunities.
Drive new user acquisition across owned and paid online channels, content, community building, and strategic partnerships.
Optimize the customer sign-up funnel and onboarding process to improve conversion and time to value respectively.
Strategically position plans and pricing to fully leverage our freemium model, increase ARPU, and drive upsell balancing customer and business value.
Improve customer retention via plan optimization and reactivation strategies.
Strategically use data to inform growth decisions and to measure the long-term success of growth investments and the organization.
Establish relationships and drive cross-functional partnership with Customer Success, Product, Development, and Finance to ensure we have the appropriate process, insights, and alignment for our strategy and prioritization.
Be an active member of the Executive Leadership Team advocating for and making holistic decisions to drive the long-term company strategy and value.

Qualifications
Experience in a senior leadership role in SAAS growth, online customer acquisition and retention, and/or digital general management with P&L responsibility.
Demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern online performance marketing, lifecycle marketing, product development, creative and UX design, A/B testing, and analytics and data science.
Humble, servant leader focused on the success of the Company and the Leadership Team over personal success.
Demonstrated ability to serve as a well-rounded senior leader contributing to overall company strategy, value creation, and business model optimization outside of the growth function.
Experience building and leading diverse teams of highly analytical individuals in a fast- paced, collaborative environment while exhibiting empathy for the teams you serve.
Experience with e-commerce platforms and in software product management is a plus.
Salary
Big Cartel has a fixed salary structure per role based on data from industry research. Current salary range for Head of Growth is $200,000 - $250,000.
