St. Mary/Vermilion Community Action Agency/Head Start Program is seeking qualified individuals for the following position:

Head Start Mentoring Teacher

All applicants must possess at a minimum:

High School Graduate

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field of study, if you do not possess a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field you must obtain the Child Development Associate Credential. Two years of direct experience working with young children.

Duties:

The ability to plan, organize and manage classroom activities.

Responsible for assisting Education Supervisor in carrying out all assignments relative to planning, implementation, and evaluation of direct and indirect educational and other integrated content area activities in accordance with program policies, administrative procedures, and Head Start Performance Standards as it relates to Head Start Teachers and Teacher Assistants.

Must attend staff meetings, parent meetings and all other program meetings as directed.

Maintain confidentiality of all information pertaining to children and families

Performs other related tasks as required and assigned.
