We seek applicants for the Health Care Assistant position with Cuan Chaitriona Nursing Home to join our highly motivated and focused team.

Cuan Chaitriona Nursing Home opened in 1995. It is a spaciously designed and purpose-built single-level building on an elevated site on the outskirts of Castlebar. The nursing home is owned and operated by The Newbrook Group. Cuan Chaitriona accommodates 58 residents in an environment which is home from home. We believe in a person-centered approach with a high standard of care, and we encourage Residents to be actively involved in their own Care Planning & Activities programme.

The main purpose of the role is:

To work as part of a team of Health Care Assistants, under the direction of the Nursing team, to provide quality person-centred care to meet the needs of residents and provide support to continue living as independently as possible with privacy and dignity.

• To promote a caring environment for residents through high standards of professional practice which are conducive to the physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual needs of the Residents of the Home

Required Education, Skills, and Qualifications*

Previous experience or a relevant qualification are preferred however, those currently studying QQI level 5 in healthcare or pre-nursing will also be considered (if you are thinking of starting the QQI level 5, please also get in touch)

• Must be compassionate and have great interpersonal skills

• Training will be provided for the successful candidate.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule:

• 12 hour shift
• Day shift
• Night shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Castlebar, CO. Mayo: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

• Healthcare: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• QQI Level 5 in Healthcare (preferred)
