A surgical technologist, also known as a scrub technologist or operating room technician, is a member of the surgical team who works alongside surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists to ensure a smooth and safe surgical procedure.

Here are the key responsibilities of a surgical technologist:

Preparing the operating room: This involves setting up surgical instruments and equipment, making sure they are sterilized and ready to use, and ensuring the room is clean and sterile.

Assisting with patient preparation: The surgical technologist may assist with positioning the patient on the operating table and preparing them for the procedure.

Providing instruments and supplies to the surgeon: The surgical technologist must anticipate the surgeon's needs and quickly provide the necessary instruments and supplies during the procedure.

Maintaining a sterile field: The surgical technologist must keep the surgical area sterile at all times and replace any contaminated instruments or supplies.

Monitoring equipment: The surgical technologist is responsible for checking and maintaining the equipment and machines used during the procedure.

Closing and dressing wounds: After the procedure, the surgical technologist may assist with closing incisions, applying dressings, and cleaning the wound.

Documenting the procedure: The surgical technologist must accurately document the details of the procedure, including any instruments or supplies used.

The surgical technologist must have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. They must also be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

This is a not full time but contracted travel position.
