Position Summary:
Spring Creek Construction is looking for an experienced heavy-equipment operator, specifically to include backhoe, dozer, forklift, grader, skid steer, telehandler, and track hoe. This candidate must be willing to locate to Walden, Colorado.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
- Operate a variety of vehicles and heavy construction equipment.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment, report defects and repairs to main office.
- Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and objects.
- This is a physically demanding position. Candidate must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employee is frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands to signal and handle equipment.
- Must be team oriented with good communication skills.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills.
- Perform well in a “TEAM” environment.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
- Willing to work hours that are associated to the construction industry, including overtime and weekends as needed.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Valid driver license is required.
Physical Requirements & Conditions:
- Candidate must be aware that the project site is at 8800 foot elevation.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
- Must be able to perform physical activities that require lifting heavier items such as tools and materials, considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping.
Minimum Education and Experience:
6+ years of experience operating equipment preferred.
