Function/Duties of Position:
A member the Hemophilia program leadership team, consisting of the Hemophilia Director, Associate Director, and Hemophilia Administrator, providing high level management to the Hemophilia program within the Institute on Development and Disabilities. The Hemophilia Administrator is responsible for overseeing the operations of the entire Hemophilia Program including clinical, factor, research, outreach, and regional activities.

The Hemophilia Program is home to 42 Faculty and Staff serving the program across clinical, research, public health, and education programs. The Hemophilia Center is comprised of three distinct clinical lines, a robust research program, and the Factor Distribution Program. The Hemophilia program is also regional core center for the Mountain States Hemophilia Network.

The Administrator works under the direction of, and with delegated authority from, the Hemophilia Director and Associate Director, as well as the IDD Institute Administrator, and oversees the planning and operations for the Hemophilia program. In this capacity, they will advise the Director, Associate Director, and Institute Administrator on program issues, lead program initiatives, and represent program leadership in external programs, projects and committees. They will be asked to direct and oversee all administrative and financial aspects of the Hemophilia program clinical, research, education, and public health programs including strategic planning, personnel management, budgeting and finance, professional practice issues, facilities, inventory and equipment, contract negotiation, and professional billing. Works closely with the Director, Associate Director, and Institute Administrator on all administrative functions, providing administrative continuity in the Director and Associate Director's absence.

The Administrator will oversee all aspects of administration for the Hemophilia program within the Institute on Development and Disability. In this capacity, the Administrtor will ensure the Hemophilia program is financially viable and in compliance with all applicable regulatory and university policies, procedures and processes pertaining to faculty affairs, human resources, and professional billing.
In addition, under the direction for the Institute Administrator, the Hemophilia Administrator will take a leadership role in the development and implementation of strategic and operational initiatives building upon collaborative approaches improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the Hemophilia program.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum seven years program or project management experience.
  • Ability to make independent decision, anlayze situations, solve complex problems and initiatiate actions for the effective management of a large and complex department.
  • Demonstrated leadership and planning skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in software applications, specifically spreadsheet, word processing and database applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or Public Health Administration strongly preferred.
  • 10 + years’ experience. Prior experience in a complex, multi-faceted academic medical center environment; previous experience with professional practice issues.
  • Must have extensive experience in managing fiscal operations, including grants and contracts.
  • Previous budgetary experience.
  • Experience supervising staff.
  • Experience in Lean or other management improvement techniques.
