High School Assistant Principal
Job description
The Green Mountain Unified School District (part of Two Rivers Supervisory Union) is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work as the Assistant Principal for Green Mountain Union High School. The duties of the Assistant Principal are determined by the building Principal. In order to support the academic and social-emotional growth of students, the preferred candidate will have a strong background in Secondary Education, Restorative Practices, Special Education, Trauma-informed Practices, and Proficiency-based education.
- Performs a variety of administrative duties to assist the Principal in managing the school including; Creating schedules, managing staff and ensuring safety.
- Assumes the duties of the Principal in the absence of the Principal and as assigned.
- Serves as a collaborative team member of the Crisis, Student Support, and Leadership Teams.
- Shares the responsibility of monitoring attendance and behavioral issues.
- Shares the responsibility of handling all HHB and Title IX investigations with the Principal
- Collaborates with school staff and/or personnel from outside agencies.
- Attends parent meetings and provides supervision for afternoon and evening activities, including athletics.
- Participates in administrative meetings and training to improve administrative skills as directed; maintains current knowledge of the district's curriculum and instructional practices.
Qualified candidates must hold a Master’s Degree, hold or be eligible to hold a valid VT Educator License with a Principal endorsement and have a minimum of five years of secondary school teaching experience.
