Desert Heights Preparatory Academy is looking to hire a High School Spanish Teacher to join an established High School Team and Spanish Department. We are a program with small class sizes, with a range of 14-22 students in each class. DHPA is a uniform school with a vision that promotes our 3 pillars of Academic Excellence, Integrity of Character, and Social Awareness.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide daily instruction to High School students in Spanish at the high school level, as well as 2 college level or Dual Enrollment courses (Spanish 101 and Spanish 102).
- Ensure instruction for High School level courses meet the state standards requirements, support success on the ACT and other required assessments, and prepare them for college level coursework.
- Ensure college courses are delivered through the expectations of the Maricopa Community Colleges and meet all requirements provided by the colleges.
- Provide adequate supervision of students within the classroom and other areas of campus
- Identify the learning needs of individual children
- Provide learning environments that are stimulating so that children develop their potential and experience growth
- Serve as a mentor and role model to students
- Attend professional development required by Administration
- Maintain accurate student records
- Provide learning resources and materials
- Plan and deliver instruction based on needs of individual students
- Plan instruction aligned to the Arizona and National Standards for World Languages
- Develop and adjust curriculum documents for Level 3 and 4 Spanish courses
- Update the Student Learning Management System with plans and assignments daily
- Communicate in a clear and professional manner to all stakeholders in person, over the phone, and via email
- Maintain safety and order in the classroom to create a culture for learning
Knowledge of:
Various applications and software systems; Edupoint Educational Systems, Naviance, Office365, Grade Book, Electronic Communication and Curriculum, and Learning Management System.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Spanish or Master’s Degree in any field with 18 graduate credits
- Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- A current resume
- 2 letters of recommendation
- Strong communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with a team
- Flexible, organized, positive professional conduct
