DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work as a member of the Lamination Team in a large boat manufacturing facility.
  • Locate and cut holes needed for standard and optional fitting and equipment using a variety of patterns and measurement tools in the lamination area.
  • Assist in controlling material usage and ensuring highest quality results.
  • Read Engineering prints to identify hole locations.
  • Use a variety of hand tools to perform job responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

Education and Experience:

  • High School Education or GED equivalent

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to audit departmental work areas
  • Ability to read prints
  • Ability to obtain department inspection and final buy-offs through quality repair work
  • Ability to pass respirator fit test
  • Ability to read and understand job descriptions
  • Ability to work in a dusty environment
  • Ability to work in a hot environment
  • Verbal communication skills
  • Hand tool knowledge to include, but not limited to, jig saw, diamond cutter, back facing, mini grinder and drill
  • Knowledge of hazardous chemical handling and disposal
  • Working knowledge of procedures , instructions, and documents as it relates to the quality system

Safety Requirements:

  • Must possess the desire and ambition to work safely at all times and report all hazards to Supervisor immediately
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment where designated, including but not limited to: safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, respirators etc.
  • Must be able to understand and complete the OSHA questionnaire, pass spirometer test and physically wear a respirator where required
  • Must be able to physically handle the requirements of the job, including lifting, bending, climbing stairs, spending standing, etc. with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to understand all safety related document and worksite rules and practices, equipment operating instructions, documented safety management systems, and health and safety requirements, including the General Safety Rules and Individual Safety Commitment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires constant walking and standing tolerance with frequent bending and stooping. Must wear protective respirator, gloves and safety glasses.
  • Frequent lifting of 50 lbs. and a maximum two person lift of up to 100 pounds.
  • Must have good manual and finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination and visual acuity.

Environment:

Hot environment. The environment is dusty and requires the ability to work with fiberglass and associated chemicals.
