Home Care Specialist
A home care specialist is a professional who assists individuals with daily tasks and activities so that their clients can live more independent lives. They are kind-hearted and have good organizational skills. They are there to help and to keep track of care plans and the care needs of their clients.
We are looking for an extraordinary Caregiver to care for our clients in a professional and compassionate manner. It’s an often-demanding job, but it can also be very satisfying and rewarding, since people who are ill, injured, disabled or elderly are thankful for high quality assistance. The ideal candidate will be patient and friendly with excellent communication skills. You should be able to follow instructions and perform a variety of tasks to help clients. Punctuality and a high level of professionalism are a must for this job.
Must be able to commute/travel anywhere from the I-8 into South Bay (Point Loma, Mission Valley, Hillcrest / Downtown, SDSU College Area, National City, Chula Vista, Spring Valley, Coronado).

Requirements and skills
- Full vaccination against COVID19 (including current on all boosters).
- Some weekend flexibility is required (ie: rotating weekend, or one day commitment of weekend)
- Must have proven 1+ experience as a caregiver/ Home Care Aide, or schooling certification such as CNA.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background screening and clear driving record with no major infractions.
- Must possess current U.S. driver’s license, with current registration and insurance
- Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid (CPR) certification, or the ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
- Must adhere to health and safety standards (COVID prevention, PPE, maintaining a safe work environment)
- Respectful and compassionate.
- Good time management skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong work ethic.
- Ability to read/write/communicate in English.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints.
- Physical endurance – ability to push, pull, lift up to 25 lbs. and safely transfer clients; able to safely use gait belt & Hoyer lift.
- Previous experience working with someone who has Alzheimer’s / dementia is desired.
- 21 years or older.

Caregiver responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Remind clients to take prescribed medication/vitamins.
- Assisting clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
- Assisting clients with personal care and hygiene, (i.e.: showers, dressing, changing briefs/depends, cook, feed).
- Light housekeeping.
- Help clients with exercises (range of motion, stretches, walks, etc.), as directed by physician.
- Plan and prepare meals.
- Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop
- Be a pleasant and supportive companion
- Report any unusual incidents to the office.
- Typical shifts range from 3-9 hours a day.
Pay Rate: $17 - $20 per hour
