About the Opportunity:
We are looking for a Clinical Supervisor who takes initiative, is highly organized and has strong verbal and written communication skills. Ideally, the person has familiarity with home health to help us ensure that our daily client services are of the highest quality. This position reports directly to the company owners and is a key role in the successful operation of Always There HomeCare. This positive person, creative problem solver will oversee caregiving team members, mentors them and helps them hone their skills. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in delivering positive first impressions that encourages repeat business.
Essential Functions:
- Work successfully individually and as a team member
- Communicate with co-workers, management, employees, and clients in a courteous and professional manner
- Maintains current and accurate records and schedules for all clients and requests for service
- Create and maintain staff schedules by contacting employees and confirming accepted shifts and strategizing to cover open shifts and callouts
- Utilize and maintain an electronic scheduling program, providing daily updates as needed
- Problem-solve issues as they arise: caregiver callouts, client hour changes, etc.
- Helps to recruit and hire potential employees
- Trains newly hired employees
- Assists team members in obtaining more education and helps them find ways to enhance their skills for specific client care
- Helps improve communication among employees on client cases
- Increases worker retention rates
- Enhances quality of Always There HomeCare services
- Assists in the planning and promoting of health programs for the community
- Develops and implements potential policies and procedures of Always There HomeCare
- Evaluates the job performances of caregivers
- Possesses strong people skills
- Have regular meetings with staff to discuss care items & review possible issues
- Start, review or update client care plans
- Review new care plans with team members in addition to pertinent updates
- Motivate staff & contribute to team building
- Provide input for caregiver reviews
- Escalate issues to management as appropriate
- Ensures accuracy & quality of clinical documentation
- Identifies quality assurance and risk management issues
- Discuss incidents and issues that need to be resolved to help the company run more efficiently
- Willing to work on-call weekends
- Learn scheduling software, in order to assist in scheduling activities
Education, Skill and Experience Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Caregiving experience and scheduling experience
- Strong decision-making, organizational skills with ability to multi-task
- Reliable and detail oriented
- Strong written and verbal communications
- Client and family focused
- Excellent computer skills, in particular with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Must be highly collaborative and effective working with a wide array of team members
- Knowledgeable and experienced enough to step right into a fast-paced work environment
- Good listening skills and support for both clients and caregivers, reflecting compassion and care in stressful situations
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Committed to being a team player: communicative, collaborative, and supportive of the office’s mission and goals
- Present a pleasant and professional demeanor when communicating with customers via phone and email
- Keep all evaluation forms current
Work Environment:
This job operates in an office building at a single location, as well as client’s homes, facilities, etc.
Position Type & Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time salary position of 40 hours per week. Days of work are Monday through Friday with every 3rd weekend on call, including phone calls, assignments and fill in with business operations if needed. You will be off the Thursday before your weekend on. The hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. We are flexible with these hours. There is the option to work remotely at times.
