We service the following areas: Caroline County, Charles City County, Essex County, Hanover County, Henrico County, James City County King and Queen County, King William County, Middlesex County, New Kent County, Richmond County, and Richmond City.

Position

We are seeking an experienced Home Health Director to lead our team of nurses, therapists, and aides in providing the best possible care for our patients. This position will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Home Health department.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain quality patient care through the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and protocols in accordance with tribal, state, and federal laws.
  • Manage staff recruitment, hiring, training and development, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure that all patients receive timely and appropriate care by coordinating and managing staffing assignments according to service contracts.
  • Conduct regular meetings with staff to discuss new developments, changes in policy and procedure, and any other relevant information.
  • Plan and manage budget, payroll, purchasing and inventory.
  • Collaborate with contractors, insurance companies, healthcare providers and home health staff to provide and deliver optimal patient care.
  • Prepare and submit required reports to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Keep abreast of new developments in the field of home health care, attending conferences and seminars as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health administration, business administration or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in home health care management.
  • Proven track record of successful budget development and oversight.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal regulations governing home health care.
  • Experience coordinating staff and staffing assignments.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of electronic health records systems.
  • Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement rules and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
