Courtyard by Marriott Cranbury South Brunswick, a leader in the hospitality industry, is looking for an Engineer/Maintenance Associate to join our team. These shifts are typically 8:00am-4:00pm and 4:00pm-11:00pm.

Open availability is required for this position.

The pay rate for this position is very competitive and increases for those with more experience and skill.

In this key role, you will actively participate in success of the housekeeping department and guest service, in order to maintain high standards of quality. Must possess effective communication and organizational skills. Must be able to work in a fast paced, energetic environment.

Responsibilities:

· Ensure all safety procedures are followed when completing tasks. Including protective clothing –

(facemask, goggles, rubber gloves, welding shield worn), lock out/tag out, etc

· Participate in the preventative maintenance process

· Ensure all work orders and repairs are completely in a timely fashion

· Monitor life safety systems in compliance with all corporate/franchise standards and local, state and national codes and regulations to protect assets, guests and employees

· Ensure all Food and Beverage equipment is in proper working condition

· Follow up on contractor and warranty (punch) issues

· Monitor and control expenses of the department

· Ability to work in a strong effective team

· Ability to visually check hotel premises

· Excellent communication skills required to communicate with management, staff and vendors

· Ability to provide information and services to hotel management and guests.

Qualifications:
· Experience required in a related position

· Ability to complete basic repairs

· Experience with chemicals including but not limited to degreasers, paint, silicone, gasoline, coil cleaners, etc.

· Ability to use power tools

Physical Requirements:

· Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying weights up to 50 lbs. and greater

· Frequent bending and/or kneeling throughout the day

· Mobility throughout the hotel, all floors, varying heights, distances and temperatures

· Use of ladders and lifts required at times

· Driving - limited driving on an occasional basis for supplies, equipment, etc.
