CKS is supporting Casa Teresa with the recruitment of a Shelter House Mom – reports to the Shelter Administrator and is responsible for day-to-day operation of the Shelter House with occasional support of operations at the Alumni Resource Center. The following are typical duties of this position:

• Conduct orientation with new residents, including review of Program Guidelines, issuing house and room keys, obtaining signatures on various required documents, and take a personal file photo. Provide entry packets and welcome baskets. Review staff resources available to residents.
• Maintain frequent contact with Shelter residents to ensure their comfort and to identify related issues to be addressed, especially when resident just returns home after giving birth. Review all observations of emotional or physical distress with the appropriate Case Manager and/or Shelter Administrator.
• Attend Shift Change Meetings and communicate any significant events or issues with residents to other House Moms.
• Organize and maintain inventory of the following: house supplies (bedding, towels, dishes, tubberware, etc.), personal supplies (toiletries, hygiene, etc.), layette supplies, and household cleaning supplies, for all facilities.
• Maintain list of room cleaning requirements and conduct daily room checks for compliance. Follow up with residents who do not pass room checks.
• Develop master list of chores on Shelter campus and assign to residents as appropriate. Follow up to confirm nightly completion of chores.
• Prepare dinner nightly for residents. Coordinate residents for clean-up and meal preparation assistance. Coordinate with other daytime house moms for cooking schedule and grocery needs.
• Shop for household and meal planning needs weekly at Costco & Ralph’s.
• Organize, train and mentor assigned interns on Casa Teresa’s mission, vision and delivery of direct services to our residents as it pertains to the role of being a House Mom.
• Deep Clean and conduct inventory of each room following the exit of an existing resident. Replace any items that are missing or defective. Report to maintenance any items for repair.
• Monitor classes as needed.
• Coordinate resident birthday recognitions.
• Chart each resident’s participation on the incentive checks chart daily.
• Obtain baby statistics for preparation and posting of newborn recognition flyer and email announcement.
• Transport residents/babies to doctor, hospital, pharmacy, TB testing, or other appointments as required.
• Organize, train and mentor assigned interns on Casa Teresa’s mission, vision and delivery of direct services to our residents as it pertains to the role of being a House Mom.
• Enter all class attendance data into database regularly.
• Coordinate volunteers for Shelter Program.

Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
