TITLE: Housekeeper
REPORTS TO: Motherhouse Administrator
SUMMARY: The Housekeeper is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning activities to ensure the facility is cared for and well maintained.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Commit to the Mission/Vision of the Sisters of Saint Joseph
- Clean all areas of the building(s) including dusting, mopping, industrial vacuuming, washing carpets and rugs, etc.)
- Clean restrooms, bedrooms, offices, stairs and corridors
- Empty wastebaskets
- Replace light bulbs and repair fixtures if needed
- Replenish bathroom supplies when appropriate
- Heavy cleaning, including moving of furniture to clean behind and under certain areas
- Protect equipment to ensure there are no issues
- Adhere to rules regarding health, safety, and organization policies
- Perform other tasks and special projects/events as appropriate
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience as a housekeeper
- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED/High School Equivalence Certificate
EXPERIENCE:
1 - 3 years of experience as a housekeeper

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to go up and down stairs regularly
- Ability to work in high areas via a ladder
- Prioritization and time management skills
- Customer-oriented and friendly demeanor
- Ability to work quickly without compromising quality
