Overview:
You like setting things up to look perfect, but don’t mind breaking them all down again. As Banquet Set Up you set, maintain and refresh the banquet meeting rooms according to the sales contract and hotel standards.
Responsibilities:
  • Understanding your banquet event order so you can set up and breakdown each event safely and efficiently. Everything needs to shine – floors, walls, windows, mirrors, etc. (be sure you are reporting anything in less than perfect condition to maintenance for repair) You also are ensuring supplies are readily available per the banquet event order and all equipment is set up and working properly
  • Arriving at work on time to get the banquet set up and ready to go and assisting the service staff and the guest throughout the event as needed.
  • Efficient undertaking post function cleaning duties – floors, tables, buffet stations, etc. the banquet house person duties include ensuring banquet space is quickly flipped and all area are spotless for the next guest/ function.
  • Keep track of event supplies, equipment and carefully store furnishings when not in use, promptly reporting repair and maintenance needs.
  • Pitch in to help with banquet service and attend to guest needs and special requests with prompt “can-do” courtesy.
  • Following your hotel’s established safety and security policies and procedures. Anticipate problems and ask for management assistant as needed
  • Complete any additional reasonable requests by management
  • Check with supervisor before leaving at end of shift
  • Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print).
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 100 pounds without assistance.
  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
  • Move up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum six (6) months of related experience required
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must obtain a CER license
  • Must adhere to state liquor laws and beverage control procedures that pertain to serving and handling
  • Serve-safe food handlers certification required

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Able to work a varied work schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to change.
