Job description
C.E.F.S. Housing Counselor position duties include recruitment, intake, eligibility determination, assessment, counseling, casework, and the development of individuals' goals and perspectives in becoming self-sufficient. This position be housed at the Fayette County Outreach office in Vandalia, IL and will assist in liaison work for the program with all persons, parties and entities, both public and private as assigned. Duties will require travel, training in housing and financial counseling services and require home visits/inspections. This position will also assist in the food pantry. The attainment of a HUD certification within 6 months of hire is required. Associates degree and/or experience in social services preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required.
