Beer Business at Diageo
St. James's Gate Brewery in Dublin is Diageo's largest manufacturing facility in Ireland, and the largest stout brewery in the world, producing over three million pints of Guinness every day, supplying a growing Irish and UK market, and exporting to 90 global markets.
Our main beer brands are Guinness, Smithwick's and Harp. We also brew Carlsberg and Tuborg under licence for the Irish market, as well as a range of newer products including Hop House 13, Rockshore, and most recently Guinness 0.0.
The role
- Partner with the functional leadership teams to build and deliver bold and innovative talent plans which includes robust succession planning to future proof the business, resourcing for our biggest opportunities at pace, strong proactive pipeline of talent, and crafting exciting accelerated career path for people which accelerates their development. This will include ongoing collaboration with Category and Functions HR BPs across Global Supply Chain & Procurement.
- Lead the Organisation Effectiveness agenda for St James Gate and contribute to the broader plan for the Beer Category – using data and analytics to create solutions that result in successful and groundbreaking performance, delivers cost efficiencies and injects the right reinvestments.
- Drive inclusion and diversity agenda tailored to the site across all HR levers (talent, reward, culture, learning, etc) that creates an inclusive culture where each employee feel valued for their uniqueness and are able to improve their impact.
- Support the development of impactful teams, coaching line managers to create an agile, stretching and focused performance culture to enables outstanding performance and fulfilling employee experiences collaborating with HR shared service teams and our Centres of Excellence
What we're looking for:
- A highly developed curiosity to understand what drives the business and how the varying agendas across each function contribute towards driving the market forward, enabling the leaders to be able to contribute through seeing each scenario through the lens of both the business objective and the people agenda
- Successful collaboration and influencing across a variety of collaborators at all levels, resulting in strong and positive outcomes.
- You will seek and create a culture of collaboration and standard process, removing duplication and championing efficiency and simplification.
- Highly conceptual – is able to join the dots and paint a picture that makes sense and influences the business
- Deep understanding of organisational design principles and how to build principles for each function to drive growth/ functional progression
- Change and project management skills (including inspiring change)
- Ability to build and maintain genuine relationships based on mutual trust & respect
- Excellent talent judgement – ability to assess talent gaps, and suggest actions needed to strengthen succession plans and talent pipelines
