Human Resource Manager

Davey Coach, the leading provider of small to mid-size buses in the United States, is looking to grow their team in Sedalia, CO. Davey connects people with what's important.
An important part of their internal structure is connecting employees. Davey is in search of a Human Resources Generalist/Manager. This position will be responsible for effectively managing the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources Department, including but not limited to, training, recruiting and employment, compensation administration, organizational development, employee relations, and human resource systems automation for the company.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
§ Annually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters.
§ Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization's compliance.
§ Consult and meet frequently with Managers regarding their HR business issues and strategy to improve and develop staff.
§ Work with senior management on policy development and maintenance.
§ Develop and maintain the performance review program.
§ Interact with Sr. Consultant/Advisor to the Board and outside legal counsel on review of employment-related documents and issues.
§ Consult with managers and employees on work-related problems and counsel accordingly for timely problem resolution.
§ Establish, prioritize and provide solutions for organizational training needs.
§ Maintain overall supervision of the organization’s recruiting, placement and training programs.
§ Ensure compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity and all other state and federally mandated regulations.
§ Direct and maintain employee activities designed to promote and maintain a strong culture and high employee morale.
§ Prepare periodic employee data reports as necessary or requested.
§ Respond to unemployment claims and other department of labor requests as necessary.
Other Duties:
§ Other duties or special projects as assigned.
§ Ensure compliance with HR protocols and record keeping requirements.
§ Recommend and implement the means for communicating organizational updates and changes consistently and effectively to the workforce in a timely manner.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required (unless otherwise noted):
§ Minimum of 5+ years’ Human Resources experience; a Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, preferred. A combination of education and HR-related experience may be substituted.
§ Knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including employee relations, compensation practices, diversity, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws, as well as related compliance requirements.
§ Thorough knowledge and understanding of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
§ Ability to use good judgment in dealing with proprietary and confidential matters.
§ Self-directed, highly motivated, and possess strong work ethics
§ Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and organize projects
§ Outstanding written (email) and oral (phone and in-person) communication skills
§ Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn third-party HRIS system.
§ Ability to work well under the pressure of meeting tight deadlines in a timely manner
§ Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
§ Strong interpersonal/internal customer service skills
§ High degree of productivity and skill in troubleshooting, and problem solving
§ Ability to accept responsibility for assigned tasks and complete them on schedule
§ Ability to communicate information efficiently and succinctly both verbally and in written form.
§ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the organization, including outside clients/customers and vendors.
§ Ability to work effectively in a diverse workforce
