If so, we are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner, who will report to the Director, Human Resources. The HRBP will provide leadership, hands-on HR generalist support, and strategic HR partnership to assigned regions. This is both a strategic and tactical role providing HR consultation consistent with the Berlin Values. Based out of Fairfield, CA, travel is estimated at 20% and will vary based on the needs of our business.

Key Accountabilities:


  • Be a trusted advisor, thoughtful sounding board, and business partner for the regional leadership team, and function as the expert on people and organizational issues.
  • Translate the strategic and tactical business plans into strategic and operational HR plans.
  • Develop and execute talent acquisition strategies to identify and retain top talent in support of business initiatives.
  • Assess employee engagement and develop action plans with leaders to ensure a positive, engaging and supportive work environment.
  • Lead talent management efforts including talent assessment, succession planning, and strategic training and development to build a robust leadership pipeline.
  • Serve as an advisor and coach to employees around career development and performance improvement.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations, as needed.
  • Participate in recruiting and selection processes to include interview, selection, onboarding, and training of new hires.
  • Primary point of contact for all day-to-day employee relations.
  • Consistently ensure that employment policies, procedures, and practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, and are consistent with the organization’s values.
  • Model the Berlin Values and serve as a champion for the Berlin Culture as defined in the employer and employee portions of the T-Chart.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:


  • 4-year degree from an accredited University required. MBA and/or other advanced degree preferred.
  • SPHR certification a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience in high-volume, fast-paced, multi-site distribution or manufacturing environments.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws, specifically California employment laws.
  • High-level of emotional intelligence and ability to influence. Effective communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership skills necessary to foster an environment that supports teamwork, continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability while maintaining a high level of operating standards and profit performance.
  • Broad knowledge of HR practices including talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, training, organizational development, compensation, and benefits,.
  • Excellent project management, prioritizing, organizing, and planning skills, with a focus on delivering high quality results.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills with the ability to navigate complex employee situations.
  • Ability to exercise sound independent judgement in establishing and maintaining good working relationship with management and employees at all levels.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of financials.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple issues of a sensitive nature.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish a plus.
  • Ability to travel 20%.
