Job Title: Human Resources Coordinator

Reports To: Human Resources Director

Type: Full-Time

Location: Administration

FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

I. Purpose

The Human Resource Coordinator assists the Human Resources Director in driving a strengths-based organizational culture that promotes staff’s professional and personal development. This position assists The Human Resources Director in the daily operations of the Human Resources Department, enforcing HR policies and/or procedures, executing integrated HR operations, and ensuring legal compliance and implementation of The Haven’s mission and talent strategy.

II. Essential Functions

· Assist in the talent acquisition process by posting open positions on company
website and other approved job boards.

· Assists in conducting initial applicant pre-screenings to assess for minimum
eligibility.

· Assist in the pre-employment process by initiating pre-employment background
screenings, employment verification, reference verifications, drug screenings, and
any other required pre-employment verifications for new employees, volunteers,
interns, and contractors.

· Assist in the employee onboarding process by conducting Orientation and assisting
with the completion of all new hire paperwork for new employees, volunteers,
interns, and contractors.

· Assists in the administration of human resources programs including, but not
limited to, compensation, benefits, leave, performance management, productivity,
recognition and morale, occupational health and safety.

· Assists in developing and implementing required training and employee
development opportunities.

· Conduct initial and recertification courses for CPR and First Aid and Nonviolent
Crisis Intervention.

· Assists in maintaining accurate personnel and training records for employees,
volunteers, interns, and contractors in HRIS and Compliance systems.

· Assists in the implementation of policies, procedures, training initiatives, and
surveys to support the organization’s human resource and compliance strategies.

· Assists in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including,
but not limited to AHCCCS, ADHS, T\RBHAs, CARF.

III. Other Duties and Responsibilities

· Ensures that all confidential staff materials are securely stored, and that only
authorized personnel have access to the information.

· Assists with developing employee relationships and network opportunities.

· Attends educational trainings, informational and networking meetings, and
workshops to ensure current requirements are met with AHCCCS, ADHS, T\RBHAs,
CARF, providers and other necessary entities in order to comply with standards.

· Performing administrative tasks and projects as assigned.

IV. Required Skills/Abilities:

· Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations (preferred)

· Working knowledge of the Arizona Public Behavioral Health system (preferred)

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Strong public speaking and group facilitation skills

· Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees

· Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate

· Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

· Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and Compliance systems.

V. Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education
(required)

· Two years of experience in one or more of the following areas: talent acquisition,
training and development, employee relations, or compliance (required)

· Certification as a CPR and First Aide Instructor and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention
Instructor or ability to be certified with 30 days of hire (required)

· One year of Human Resources or equivalent experience in a health and human
services setting (preferred)

· One year of leadership experience (preferred)

· Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations (preferred)

· Knowledge of the non-profit field including the funding and policies regulations
(preferred)

· Level 1 Non-IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain within 30 days of
hire (preferred)

VI. Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

· Must be able to lift 15 pounds

· Must have a valid Driver's License

VII. Extent of Public Contact

Interacts with external entities, with all levels of Haven personnel and with Haven clients.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.06 - $31.59 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
