Freebirds is looking for a bold, culture-centric, and innovative Director of Human Resources to join our rapidly growing organization. The Director of Human Resouces is a strategic partner with strong self-starter skills, who can both manage a department and formulate company strategy. This role will directly oversee our HR team and report to Freebirds’ General Counsel. This role is expected to create and lead initiatives that align with the company’s goals while evolving the company’s HR department.

Responsibilities:

  • You are responsible for Tribe relations strategy, to include coaching and counseling.
  • You provide high level support and strategic guidance to other departments.
  • Your are responsible for aligning HR department strategies with companyobjectives.
  • You are expected to bring initiatives to the table that will support company revenue and margin performance goals
  • You have a passion for the employee experience, you are able to analyze Tribe surveys and identify what trends should be corrected and what should be celebrated
  • You are responsible for short and long term planning of the HR functions. This means leading strategically and tactically in the areas of workforce planning, recruitment and staffing strategies, wage and salary administration, associate and labor relations, benefits, workforce training and development and local diversity initiatives.
  • You oversee benefits and open enrollment.
  • You are an expert in retention and turnover and have exciting new ideas to bring to the table to assist in reducing turnover
  • Strong background in employment, employee relations, benefits, wage and salary, employee training, accident prevention, and government regulations and policies as they impact HR
  • You can not only manage but find new innovative ways to develop and improve our HR systems and processes
  • The role will entail data entry/data integrity, supporting other HR professionals, providing customer service for our Tribe while maintaining the day-to-day administrative function of a highly active Human Resources office
  • You Develop HR strategies and administer HR policies and procedures
  • Support operational efforts through proper staffing and training of associates
  • Conduct needs analysis, develop, implement, and monitor training programs and materials
  • Instruct managers in developing alternatives/solutions to employee concerns, and in carrying out/operating within regulatory programs
  • Successfully defend against unemployment claims, Workers' Compensation claims, etc.
  • Conduct wage and salary surveys.
  • Provides employee counseling as necessary
  • Plans and coordinates employee functions, suggestion program, etc.
  • Take an active role in professional HR organizations

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management or related field
  • PHR or SHRM-CP
  • A minimum of 5 years related HR experience
  • The ability to work independently and make sound judgements on a day-to-day basis with limited direction
  • Experience in supporting VP and C-Level leaders
  • Amazing writing and verbal communication skills
