Human Resources Generalist
Phillips Tank and Structure builds and repairs welded above-ground storage tanks (ASTs), bolted tanks, and related structures. We also inspect, install, and repair tank systems such as aluminum geodesic dome covers, aluminum internal floating roofs (IFRs), IFR mechanical shoe seals, liquid level gauges, fire protection systems, silo support structures, industrial storage tanks, and heating and insulation systems. We are located in Braddock, PA - minutes from downtown Pittsburgh and Kennywood Amusement Park. We also have branch offices in Houston, TX, Signal Hill, CA, and Kailua, HI. We just celebrated our 10 year anniversary and we are growing!

Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist's responsibilities include preparing compensation and benefits packages, setting up company policies, and maintaining updated employee records. To be successful in this role, the HR Generalist must have a good understanding of full-cycle recruiting and some knowledge of labor legislation.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Help develop, implement, support, and review all HR department initiatives, policies, procedures, and systems.
- Prepare and review compensation and benefits packages.
- Administer health and life insurance programs.
- Update employee records with new hire information and/or changes in employment status.
- Maintain detailed job descriptions along with salary records.
- Assist managers and executives with completing employee reviews, forms, and processes.
- Identify the company’s hiring needs and manage the recruitment process to ensure it runs smoothly.
- Source and fill open field positions with highly qualified talent by utilizing job boards, social media, trade schools, networking referrals, and other recruitment tools.
- Assist Safety and Construction to ensure new hires promptly complete the onboarding process.
- Display an ability to handle employee issues with professionalism, care, respect, and applicable confidentiality.
- Promptly and thoroughly investigates HR matters and presents findings to management with recommended and available courses of action.
- Exercise good judgment in presenting available options to managers and helping them make decisions that are in the best interests of the company.
- Serve as a good role model and “face” of the company to active and prospective employees.
- Process employees’ queries and respond in a timely manner.
- Stay up-to-date and comply with changes in labor legislation.
- Other duties as assigned.
