Job Description

The client is a commercial construction company with operations throughout the United States, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Estimator to join our team. Office location is flexible to one of the following regional offices: Atlanta GA, Denver CO, Ashburn VA, Dallas TX, Charlotte NC, and Phoenix AZ.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of electrical estimating experience and have the following skill sets: Ability to read and understand electrical, HVAC, plumbing, architectural and civil plans and specifications as they relate to mechanical work; Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of MEP Systems; Considers raw materials, labor, equipment, tools, labor and transportation for estimations; Good communication skills; Ability to identify and resolve issues; Effective participation in a team environment; Train and manage estimators; Detail-oriented; Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.

Estimating experience in mechanical trades including sheet metal, HVAC piping, plumbing, and associated systems along with Commercial trade software such as FastEst, QuickPen or Estimation is valuable and preferred. In addition, candidates should be able to perform material takeoff and input data into computerized cost models and have working knowledge of mechanical estimating manuals and guidelines such as MCA and PHCC.

The senior mechanical estimator will be estimating commercial projects within our core markets which include: Data Centers; Aviation; Higher Education and Corporate / Commercial Office. Responsibilities will include: Performing quantity take offs, communication with HVAC equipment and sheet metal, piping and plumbing material vendors, mechanical subcontractors, Owners and other design members; Preparation of mechanical cost estimates from conceptual phase to design development thru final construction documents; Review and validation of subcontractor proposal pricing and change orders; Develop value analysis by defining alternatives to the proposed scope that are more cost-efficient.

Salary: $80,769.00 - $90,896.00 per year
