General Qualifications: Management or supervision experience desired. Provide oversight and management of buildings, grounds and equipment of both East bound and West bound Rest Areas on I40 in Cumberland County, TN. Must have organizational and communication skills, experience and/or knowledge of computers/internet/email and basic computer program skills. Must have basic plumbing, electrical and general maintenance and repair skills and abilities. Must be able to efficiently and effectively maintain labor and scheduling needs. Requires a valid driver license with the ability to obtain an “F” endorsement. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and Drug Screen. Must follow Hilltoppers, Inc. policies and procedures along with CMRA (Community Rehabilitation Agencies of Tennessee) requirements. Hilltoppers, Inc. is a subcontractor with CMRA, who in turn, is a contractor with the State of Tennessee therefore, there are three entities that oversee part or all of the I40 Rest Area operations. The Lead Attendant must be able to listen and respond appropriately and comprehensibly to all three entities however, Hilltoppers, Inc. is the employer of the Rest Area Supervisor, their relief supervisor and the Rest Area employees.
CMRA/Hilltoppers, Inc./State of TN DOT Requirements and Duties: The Rest Area Lead Attendant will not be assigned a “regular” attendant work shift and will be on call. The Rest Area Lead Attendant is expected to work during peak demands, when there will be a high volume of travelers at the Rest Areas. The Rest Area Lead Attendant will only work a shift in the case of emergencies. In this case, the designated relief second lead attendant/supervisor will be on “stand-by” in case of other emergencies.
The Rest Area Lead Attendant is responsible for staffing and scheduling the attendants to ensure clean, efficient and safe operation of the Rest Areas. The Rest Area Lead Attendant will pass along any important information to the attendants from shift to shift.
The Rest Area Lead Attendant is responsible for reporting all accidents and/or incidents involving Rest Area guests and/or vandalism to the proper parties/agencies.
The Rest Area Lead Attendant will carry the company cell phone at all times. The calls must be responded to within 30 but, no later than 1 hour. Must be able to receive calls from employees, Hilltoppers, Inc. and other State agencies 24/7.
The Rest Area Lead Attendant is responsible for training new employees with product information, procedure, maintenance of the Rest Areas and any training that may be required by Hilltoppers, Inc.
The Rest Area Lead Attendant is responsible for the safe/legal use and maintenance of the company provided vehicle. He/She will maintain a daily vehicle log and complete monthly inspections of the vehicle, the findings of which will be turned in monthly.
The Rest Area Lead Attendant is responsible for responding to any emergency situation that might happen pertaining to the safety of the visitors and employees at the Rest Areas.
The Rest Area Lead Attendant must preform inspections, document findings and ensure that all issues are addressed timely and appropriately.
