Position requires flexibility Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with the ability to work additional hours as needed.

Position is based at 921 W Monroe Ave, Lowell, AR. However, incumbent can work remotely, but must be located within the Northwest Arkansas area for required on site trainings.

SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the IAS Supervisor, the IAS Reconciliation Specialist 2 serves as a resource for training and mentoring new and experienced Reconciliation Specialists and providing back-up assistance to all areas of Reconciliation. The IAS Reconciliation Specialist 2 can reconcile and maintain processes accurately and timely that include multiple sources such as data, people, places, etc. The incumbent also supports other departments within Arvest by answering complex questions presented by bank associates regarding reconciliation procedures and practices. The IAS Reconciliation Specialist 2 is responsible for handling a large volume of data which must be processed daily.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform reconciliations of a complex nature of general ledger and reconciliations with other software in a timely manner and in accordance with Arvest Reconciliation Policy and department procedures. This involves balancing the accounts, reviewing and researching reconciling items, following up on outstanding items as needed until cleared and providing supporting documentation for account balances and for reconciling items.
  • Complete thorough research and analysis to develop solutions to complex and non-routine reconciliation issues while taking into consideration potential impact to customers and to other departments.
  • Prepare journal entries including cost center adjustments, reclass entries and write-offs as needed to clear outstanding items from reconciliations. All journal entries must be accurate, must contain adequate descriptions, must be completed in a timely manner and must be made in accordance with Arvest Accounting Policy.
  • Provide branch associates support via telephone and email. Provide direction to associates in solving non-routine and complex reconciliation issues, perform research and evaluate problems to determine best course of resolution.
  • Reconcile and analyze cash inventories, deposits and shipments for banks, ATM’s and commercial customers. Determine how much cash inventory to have on hand and place order with Fed and/or vendor.
  • Mentor and train IAS Reconciliations Specialists. Actively participate in the onboarding and training of new associates and make recommendations for assignment of reconciliations.
  • Perform reconciliation functions for departmental associates on an as needed basis. This will require a working knowledge of all reconciliations.
  • Carefully analyze the impact new systems may have on the reconciliation process and make recommendations accordingly. Actively participate in the testing and design of new systems and processes.
  • Design and implement a reconciliation process for a new general ledger account.
  • Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance or relevant work experience required
  • 2 years related accounting experience required
  • Thorough understanding of accounting concepts and principles, bank operations and procedures required.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required.
