Hourly Rate: $25.64 per hour
POSITION SUMMARY
The Impact Specialist will be responsible for supporting collaborative efforts in education and economic mobility. Using the principles of collective impact (as defined here: https://uwsd.org/Collective-Impact), the Impact Specialist will plan, coordinate, and participate in community efforts; collect and organize data; and support projects in accordance with UWSD’s mission, vision, and strategic plan

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing;

- Make connections with local service providers; build programmatic capacity to serve identified families;
- Assist with cultivating and maintaining strong partnership with school and community partners to achieve programmatic outcomes;
- Support relationships with school staff, non-profit partners, universities, County Health and Human Services Agency, County Office of Education, K-12 Districts, child care providers and others;
- Provide consistent support to staff and partners;
- Attend community meetings throughout the County to represent United Way and learn about other efforts in the community; institutionalize methods of sharing community activity with others in the organization;
- Ensure consistent and effective communication between all involved partners;
- Assist with developing and maintaining UWSD’s presence in specific geographic regions;
- Spread awareness about UWSD’s initiatives to key school and community partners;
- Partner with other UWSD departments as appropriate; and
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Post-secondary credential – or equivalent experience – in education, human development, behavioral health, public health, social work, community development, or related field;
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, including public speaking and report writing;
- Knowledge of education, health, family stability, social service and other youth-serving systems of care;
- Demonstrated ability to manage processes and projects on time and to achieve outcomes;
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills;
- Demonstrated ability to exercise tact and good judgment;
- Demonstrated ability to research topics, assimilate data and report on findings, verbally and in written form.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and organize presentations;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time effectively and follow-through;
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office package (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint);
- Valid California Driver’s License and acceptable driving record. Must provide and verify own automobile insurance; and
- Candidate must be able to utilize own transportation for fieldwork (with expense reimbursement).
- Dual-language proficiency preferred.

Work Schedule
UWSD currently supports a hybrid work environment with a combination of remote and in-person work. The typical schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, flexibility is required due to the nature of this work. Schedule may include evenings, weekends and holidays.
