Overview

This position works under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager and supports Operations by working with clients, agents and internal staff to coordinate shipments

Key Responsibilities

• Assists in the selection of carriers and routing for shipments as assigned
• Obtaining transportation quotes
• Calculating volume weight and dimensions in both the metric and imperial system of measurement, (feet, inches, pounds, ounces, etc.)
• Calculating shipping costs and preparing quotations and secure shipments.
• Creating billing for approval
• Providing customer service via e-mail and phone for shipments as needed

The Ideal Candidate

• At least 1 year of experience in a similar or related position
• Passion for delivering quality customer service
• Able to convey information clearly verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of shipping regulations.
• Knowledge of dangerous goods handling.
• Knowledge of TSA requirements.
• Organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
• Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines, have a positive attitude and be a team player.

Education

• High School graduate
• Industry certifications a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
