About

I have an immediate need for an in-home 6th grade ELA tutor in Camp Springs. The student is in 6th grade attending Walker Mill Middle School. He needs a tutor for reading, writing, and ELA.

The student has an IEP for autism and fine motor development. He gets help at school but he would like the additional support of a tutor. The tutor can follow his curriculum and assist with any reading and writing assignments.

He would also like the tutor to work with him on reading comprehension and recapping what he read in the written form. He specifically needs help with summarizing and getting the words to paper.

In addition, he needs to improve paragraph and essay structure. He also needs reinforcement in spelling and grammar.

The overall goal is to improve his reading and writing and to gain confidence in his abilities. He would also like to be able to independently write an essay.

The family wants 1-1.5 hour sessions 2-3 times a week. They are available Monday through Friday from 5:30pm-8pm as well as Saturday from 12pm-5pm.

Job Requirements

• Tutor must be willing to work at the student's home in Camp Springs near Strayer University.
• Minimal travel required to meet with student (you decide the distance you are willing to travel, typically 5-10 miles)

Student Availability

MON-FRI 5:30pm-8pm

SAT 12pm-5pm
