Coordinates the organization-wide infection control and patient safety program. Assists the Chief Quality Officer in assuring hospital compliance with regulatory requirements.

Coordinates the organization-wide infection control and patient safety program. Assists the Chief Quality Officer in assuring hospital compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Gathers data for evaluation of the effectiveness of hospital-wide performance improvement and patient safety programs. Assists with the development of these programs annually.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates an effective hospital-wide infection control program.
- Guides and assists staff, managers, and physicians with patient safety, performance improvement, and infection control policy and procedures development and implementation.
- Ensures hospital-wide compliance with all regulatory agencies.
- Ensures that the professional development needs of management and staff, related to Infection Control and Patient Safety, are met.
- Responsible for surveillance and epidemiologic investigation.
- Responsible for the prevention and control of the transmission of infectious agents.
Qualifications: :
- Current Oregon Registered Nurse license
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing or related health care field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience in an acute care facility and broad clinical experience
- Experience in performance improvement or infection control
- Demonstrates clinical/technical competency
- CIC certification or working towards the completion within 5 years of entry into the profession
- Knowledge of various regulatory agencies and their standards, JCAHO, State of Oregon, CMS, etc. is preferred
