Job description
Position Summary:
The ITProduct Owner is responsible for maximizing the value of the product they are assigned to manage. This will include attention in the following pillars of product ownership: Vision & Strategy, Talent and Organization, Users & Outcomes, and Delivery. It is a role that can be obsessed with the quality, resiliency, and the value a product provides to the enterprise and ultimately the customer/end user.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or other relevant experience
- 3-5 years as a Business Analyst Product Owner Manager
- Preferred experience as an admin or analyst for a SaaS platform like (ServiceNow, Salesforce, etc.)
- Ability to be flexible, Ability to be a self-starter, ability to be detail oriented, ability to make an impact
- Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
Vision and Strategy:
Establishing Product Vision
- Define the Product mission and value proposition
- Communicates with stakeholders to understand business objectives
- Creates and maintains a product roadmap based on customer feedback and evolving priorities
- Keeps product aligned with business goals
- Translate the product vision into metric based objectives and results
Prioritizing Needs
- Considers the needs and objectives of stakeholders
- Manages scope, budget, and time to prioritize initiatives
Managing the Product Backlog
- Creates and maintains a list of backlog items
- Prioritizes items based on overall strategy
- Maps out dependencies within backlog items
- Secures resource commitments to execute upon backlog items from the application vendor, resource managers, or the PMO.
Talent & Organization, Users & Outcomes:
Anticipating Client Needs
- Develop a deep understanding of the product
- Performs appropriate configuration and administration of the product for sensible and swift assistance
- Understands and anticipates clients needs to ensure the quality, resiliency, and value of the product.
Acting as primary Liaison
- Gains Buy-in/Adoption from stakeholders and Users
- Responsible for training of the product, leading demos, preparing training, making training accessible.
- First Line of Support for end users of the product to resolve their issues or dispatch their problems into the appropriate workstream
- Responsible for communication product updates to impacted parties and stakeholders including but not limited to: new enhancements, new functionality, planned outages, and other updates as they occur.
Delivery:
Overseeing Development Stages
- Contribute to the planning, execution, and review of each deployment
- Works with team to refine and improve the development process
- Responsible for the delivery of the outcome of these development activities
Evaluating Product Progress
- Is Accountable for each stage of the development process and deployment
- Inspects and adapts product progress through each iteration
- Determines whether each completed backlog item is acceptable.
