Manage the daily operations to ensure our guests have an excellent experience while visiting the Campbell House. This includes reservations, front desk, answering phone, checking guests in and out, answering guest questions and complaints, and problem solving. May include cooking and serving breakfast and weekly menu planning, with projections for the weeks guest numbers. Assist with inventory needs and supplies needed for kitchen, food items, housekeeping and grounds. Ensure all guest spaces are well kept and clean, this includes guest rooms, dining room and all common spaces, pool area, grounds and overall property. Assist housekeeping, grounds and maintenance staff as needed. Provide friendly, efficient, and professional front desk services, making our guests feel at home is the number one priority. You are often the first point of contact for guests. You are to be knowledgeable on rooms, amenities, and guest services at both properties, and proactively cross-promote the 29 Palms Inn to our guests. In addition to learning the history of the Oasis of Mara and the history of both properties, staff are to be knowledge on local events and attractions and be able to provide basic visitor information for Joshua Tree National Park, Mojave Trails National Monument, and Mojave Trails National Preserve. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Arrive at scheduled time.
  • Preparing a breakfast that delights our guests within the Campbell House guidelines.
  • Providing excellent hospitality to all our guests and visitors.
  • Have knowledge of our area, history, Joshua Tree National Park and community to share with our guests.
  • Ensuring all guest areas are clean, orderly, and comfortable for guests and visitors. This includes the main house, kitchen, guest rooms, Gathering room, pool area and bathrooms.
  • Set up afternoon/evening snacks for guests, including fresh coffee, tea makings, cookies or other. Ensure lighting and temperature are welcoming.
  • Front desk duties; answering the phone, answering emails, taking reservations and cancellations. Knowledge of Campbell House policies, checking guests in & out, proficient in the use of our PMS system “Room Key”.
  • Monitor visitors, guests, and employees on site, making sure they are safe and not endangering themselves, others, or Campbell House property.
  • Ensure immediate maintenance needs are taken care of, i.e. toilet plunging, light bulbs, batteries and such. These light duties are to be handled by the Assistant Innkeeper on duty. Other larger issues to be documented thru Room Key with follow up and confirmation that it has been completed. Communicated to the manager.
  • Coordinate daily housekeeping assignments and assist with housekeeping as needed. Inspect each room prior to guest check-in to insure the room is in top quality.
  • Ensure guest requests are taken care of before they arrive, roll-a-ways, etc.
  • Notify guests of policies and late check in procedure. Notify on call person of late check in status.
  • Assist with massage scheduling and promotion as needed.
  • It is your responsibility to observing the entire Campbell House facility, including grounds, cleanliness, plant condition, watering systems, pool equipment, pool area, lighting, general safety, and the overall guest perception. If there are areas that need attention beyond your abilities, notify manager and enter maintenance in Room Key. It is your job to help maintain the condition of the Campbell House facility, clean patio furniture, change light bulbs, remove cobwebs, clean cabinet fronts, make sure trash is emptied, etc.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.50 - $18.00 per hour
