Job Title:

VT Retail Skills Instructor

Specific Purpose, 22.5 hours.

Location:

Rossview Business Park, Port Rd, Ballyraine, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal

Job Purpose:

The Vocational Training Instructor is responsible for

Deliver accredited training, across the centre, as per agreed LTS (Local Training Specification) across QQI level 5,4,3

Supporting students to develop and progress individualised training plans and updating them as training is completed.

Sourcing work placements with employers who will provide on the job training for the students

Liaising with the employers and monitoring the progress of the students

Minimum Education & Experience required:

• Third level qualification in any area such as employment, business, education, training, social care, retail, logistics etc.
• A relevant qualification - Train the Trainer QQI Level 6 as a minimum.
• Information Technology Qualification QQI Level 6 as a minimum, skills and delivery.
• Experience in delivery of QQI level 3 + 4 certifications.
• A number of years relevant occupational experience of working with learners in educational, guidance and/or developmental contexts
• Experience in delivering up to and including QQI Level 5 certification and accreditation processes
• Experience in delivering ICDL (ECDL) certification and accreditation processes
• Experience in sourcing Work Placements for students

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in the co-ordination, delivery and assessment of Level 5, 4 and 3 QQI modules including but not limited to the following subject areas of, Information Processing, eBusiness, Customer Service, Business Administration, Communications, Information & Communication Systems, Word Processing, The Internet, Database Methods, Spreadsheets, Web Authoring, Desktop Publishing and Work Experience, Teamworking, Personal Effectiveness, Reception & Front Line Office skills
• Assist in the co-ordination, delivery and assessment of ICDL (ECDL) The Digital Skills Standard modules including the subject areas of Computer Essentials, Presentations, Word Processing, Databases, Spreadsheets, Online Essentials, Online Collaboration, IT Security, Image Editing – modules not exclusive to this list.
• Mentor students by example, individual meetings and direct training, to choose the correct timetable, develop and maintain effective work attitudes and behaviours in each student, and provide students with adequate and constructive feedback about their progress.
• Provide systematic training according to specified curricula, maintaining all records required for effective monitoring of the student’s progress
