Rural Mutual Insurance Company (RMIC) is seeking a dynamic experienced Commercial and/or Farm Underwriter in Wisconsin that wants to make a difference in the future of a successful, growing insurance organization.

Territory Underwriters will have the use of a company car.

A requirement for this role is that you live within the state of Wisconsin. This role can be done remotely within the state of Wisconsin.

• Underwrite new and renewal business.
• Analyze profitability, coverages, classifications, and changes in operations. Make decisions on pricing and changes in terms.
• Respond to questions and policy referrals from Customer Service and Claims.
• Communicate with agents, policyholders, and other underwriters to obtain information and respond to questions related to underwriting.
• Complete peer review audits.
• Handle renewal follow-up items.

• We are looking for Associate Underwriter and Territory Underwriting positions.
• For the Territory Underwriter position - at least 3 years of property and casualty underwriting experience is required. Agriculture or agribusiness knowledge is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, insurance, business administration, agribusiness, or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Collaboration and organization skills.
• Additional education in CPCU or another industry-related field is beneficial.
• Bilingual abilities (Spanish, Hmong, etc.) are a plus
