Insurance Verification Specialist will verify and interpret benefits to ensure maximum payment for patients.. In addition, the IVS will assist patients and their families in obtaining any authorization, referral or pre-certification which may be required for payment of services. The IVS will be able to review benefits for and how the patient’s choice of technology impacts the patient’s out of pocket cost. The IVS will also serve as a liaison for the patient to assist in education of payment options. The Insurance Verification Specialist will also perform all duties in a team environment demonstrating flexibility in work assignments and a commitment to the Department’s mission and goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Verify, interpret, and accurately document patient health insurance or payment source.
  • Estimate self-pay portions after benefits have been determined (deductibles, co-pays, non-covered services)
  • Document all patient conversations/follow-up efforts.
  • Maintain contact and correspondence with patients and families to keep them informed of pending insurance clearances and/or coverage and/or issues
  • Maintain regular and timely contact with providers/supervisors/etc. as indicated
  • Answering incoming calls from insurance
  • Obtaining referrals/authorizations
  • Continue data entry in our billing software

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Miramar, FL 33025: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)
