HII has an immediate need to hire a USAFCENT Command Operations Center (COC) Lead Operations Analyst (Integrated Air and Missile Defense) at Shaw AFB, SC.

The COC Lead Operations IAMD Analyst is a critical role within HII Mission Technologies, responsible for providing operational and analytical support to the COC to ensure effective decision-making and operational readiness. The right candidate will provide consulting, advisory and analytical services for the day-to-day management of the USAFCENT Command Operations Center (COC) with a focus on monitoring, analyzing, reporting, and coordinating USAFCENT mission activities in the Area of Operations on a 24/7 basis (scheduled shift-work required). This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of DoD operations and procedures. The candidate shall provide consulting and advisory services to the team supporting USAFCENT’s management of the Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD).

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in all aspects of USAFCENT operational requirements associated with IAMD operations to develop and maintain joint surface-to-air and fixed-wing weapons integration and employment within a theater- wide system with potential to expand to coalition forces. Key aspects range from initiation, mission analysis, course of action development, course of action analysis, course of action comparison, course of action approval and plan development (i.e. Joint Operation Planning Process (JOPP)). Expertise will be leveraged to develop and generate standard joint operational planning products to include: Operational Guides, Concept of Operations Plans (CONPLANs) and Appendices, and Campaign Plans.
  • Assist in the development of overall concept-of-operations and rules-of-engagement for effective joint/combined air-and-missile defense operations.
  • Coordinate with Service components, HHQ, and coalition partners to successfully implement an integrated defense plan. This includes active participation in all phases of regional IAMD exercises (primarily as planners, control group members, or role players).
  • Provide strategic planning and command and control (C2) integration expertise at conferences and during exercise planning events dealing with air defense issues.
  • Build operational planning and country engagement budgets in support of ACC and USCENTCOM.
  • Build Fiscal Year operational engagement proposals to support USAFCENT and USCENTCOM.
  • Develop assessment plan for evaluating IAMD objectives during exercises. Report overall assessment of engagement and operational planning results with respect to AOR-wide IAMD objectives to IAMD division chief.
  • Develop assessment plan for evaluating IAMD interoperability and integration within the USCENTCOM’s AOR among Partner Nations and the U.S. Report overall assessment of interoperability operational integration with respect to IAMD to IAMD division chief.
  • Organize and conduct meetings, conferences, briefings, and site surveys in support of operational planning and IAMD operations.
  • Work with HHQ, joint and coalition partners, and other commands in the development and execution of operational exercises and assessment of theater interoperability.
  • Deploy to assist exercise or interoperability project lead for operational engagements and planning conferences as appropriate.
  • Develop and publish engagement situational reports with assessment of interoperability and partnership capacity included as appropriate.
  • Develop and publish exercise and conference after-action reports.
  • Attend/participate in USCENTCOM and ACC exercises, planning conferences, and VTCs.
  • Conduct all administrative requirements (e.g. scheduling events, reserving space, etc.) to facilitate operational engagements and/or interoperability planning, briefs, and travel.
  • Coordinate Aircraft and Personnel Automated Clearance System (APACS), TDY Funding Requests, flight and travel arrangements, and other levied requirements, for all team members, as required.
  • Create, coordinate, and complete staff actions via USAFCENT’s Task Management Tool (TMT).
  • Review current operations, operational plans, AF instructions, and joint publications with the purpose of collating data and information to produce and/or present briefings to USAFCENT leadership, to include general officers, of ongoing theater operations or issues.
  • Input and analyze data from the Global Theater Security Cooperation Management Information System (G- TSCMIS).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of one year AOC (or equivalent) officer experience in Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) related role.
  • Minimum of one years’ experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications/e-mail systems or the equivalent.
  • Must attend the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Staff Officer Course within 1 year of employment if not already completed in military or contractor status. Cost may be covered by USAFCENT HQ as needed.
  • Possess a U.S. Passport and meet visa requirements for Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Preferred Requirements

  • Graduate of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Staff Officer Course
  • 3+ years AOC (or equivalent) officer experience in IAMD related role

Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
