The position reports to the Senior Manager of Revenue Recognition and Technical Accounting and is critical to the success of the administration of emerging business offerings. This person will aid in driving finance and accounting processes and controls related to MSA’s connected product offerings and software-oriented safety solutions. In addition, this person will participate in the reporting cycle to ensure the filing of reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission are complete and accurate.
- Partners with business leadership to meet operational accounting needs for MSA’s connected products and service offerings.
- Implements spreadsheet models / software solutions to ensure the proper US GAAP accounting and disclosures for the above listed offerings in addition to other existing global subscription offerings.
- Works with a cross functional team to support the MSA + organization from a finance perspective. This includes assisting with the annual planning process, creating journal entry adjustments to ensure US GAAP compliance and establishing internal controls over processes.
- Partners with finance associates globally during product and service rollouts.
- Participates in the process to prepare forms 10-Q and 10-K.
- Performs accounting research as required to support business needs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP
- Creative problem solving and ability to generate high quality solutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Organizational and multitasking skills and ability to perform successfully in a team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Experience Required:
This role is available at two different career levels dependent upon education, experience, etc.:
Level I: 2 years of relevant experience- Level II: 3 years of relevant experience
Preferred:
- Public accounting or experience in a multinational manufacturing company
- CPA
- Working knowledge of SAP RAR (or similar RAR software) and Oracle FCCS
