Job Purpose
As part of our ongoing development and organisational changes, Abbott has identified an Inventory Planner role. This exciting position provides an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to work across all business functions with the main focus being to provide support within the ID DM team as directed by their immediate manager.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Responsible for supply and replenishment planning for product portfolio for both internally manufactured and externally purchased products into European Central Warehouse
- Create, communicate and track daily, weekly and monthly schedules to plan for products from Central Warehouse.
- Develop monthly Requirements plan and define optimum replenishment plan for assigned products to meet customer demand.
- Duties include reviewing and distributing inventory replenishment schedules; conferring with internal suppliers on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems.
- Work with purchasing team, customer service and manufacturing partners to ensure supply plan and schedule is executed without impact to end customers.
- Communicate all product availability risk and liaise with relevant departments to ensure product is available to the customers.
- Partners with purchasing and warehousing to analyse, minimise and dispose of slow moving, obsolete, and expiring inventory.
- Responsible for identifying improvements in core S&OP processes, such as defining adequate stock levels, optimal product allocation and within month forecast consumption.
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in distribution Requirement Planning and Scheduling processes
- Analysis, planning and forecasting in the areas of inventory management, warehousing capacity partnering with local Warehouse leadership.
- Review and update Planning and Scheduling SOPs to ensure accuracy
- Maintain accuracy of Planning information in MRP system
- Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.
Requirements
- Third Level Degree or equivalent in Logistics Supply Chain or similar preferred.
- 3+ Years Supply Chain / Logistics experience.
- Proficient in MS Office including Excel, Word, Power-Point Outlook, Project and SAP would be an advantage
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- To facilitate the interaction with sites on different time zones, occasional out of hours working required.
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal across cultures)
- Highly numerate with an aptitude for analysis.
- People management skills.
- Ability to lead meetings (by phone, video conference and face to face) to drive results and build relationships.
- Travel as required (advance notice to be provided).
